I want this to be stepping stone book for children and parents to talk about this. Since I am cisgender I would much appreciate some feedback to anything I’m doing wrong. I am excited to release a rough version of my children’s storybook on trans*gender and gender neutral kids. Reblogging again for ^this^ fantastic comment. And if anyone ever gets art or fiction for free, dear, it’s certainly never going to be an asshole. To infer that you think your source of money (job? parents?) is valid and vital while an author’s/artist’s is not pretty much paints the picture of a cheap, selfish, entitled asshole. If I can’t pay him $2 for his time and talent, how could I honestly ever expect anyone to pay me for mine? If his work is not worth my money, why should mine be worth anyone else’s? They come out once per month/six weeks and are rarely longer than fifteen pages, but I love his art, it’s good smut, and my two bucks is helping him live the dream life I hope to have one day of being paid to draw the things I love. Whenever I can-and yes, sometimes small amounts matter-I pay the $2 + change (it’s in GBP and the conversion fluxuates) to buy jollyjack’s Apsara Portfolio comics on dA. There are monthly comic books and weekly tabloids that cost more, for far less content. That could be years, even decades after the device is no longer supported. And unlike Coke and gas, you can keep, read and re-read an ebook for as long as your e-reader works. You could buy one gallon of gasoline and pay more. You could buy two bottles of Coke from a convenience store and pay more. Moaning over $2.99 for 12,000 words is ridiculous. I can empathize so strongly with this writer. I have a bad feeling I’m going to be getting a complaint like this when I release the extended ebook versions of my own original series. Why would you expect a writer or artist to spend hours, days or months creating something for free, unless it’s fanfiction?

You wouldn’t expect to eat for free at a restaurant (barring some kind of gift certificate). What is it with this prevalent attitude that artists and writers should work for free and don’t need luxuries like food, shelter, basic hygiene and transportation? We don’t live on air. Heaven forbid you shell out a measly three dollars in exchange for month’s worth of time and effort to entertain you.

I was under the impression when you first posted about them that they would be a series of free e-books, however when I looked at them on Amazon today they were $2.99. Hey Cassie, I love your books so much and I was looking forward to the Bane Chronicles.
